Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities associated with the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Aldridge, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with extra fees for those under 25. A valid full driving license suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration noted in the Rental Agreement. Renters must present valid identification and proof of address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional conditions may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions handled securely through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed to document this assessment. The vehicle must be returned in the same state as it was collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges will apply as necessary. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling fees will be incurred if the fuel is below this level. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please inform us promptly if you foresee a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during your rental period, along with an applicable administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals at Aldridge include basic third-party insurance. Full coverage specifics and excess amounts will be outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky behaviors is prohibited. Transporting dangerous materials or sub-letting to unauthorized individuals is not allowed. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used for purposes it was not intended for, and passenger or weight limits must be adhered to. Driving outside specified geographical limits requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Aldridge Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be restricted to the total amount paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Updates
Aldridge reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
